As part of our commitment to this division, we have 12 side lifters, which can handle 20 and 40 foot containers. Our equipment profile includes mini lifters, B Double combinations, quad axle trailers (special mass ability), tipping skel trailers, drop deck trailers and the conventional trailer.
We have developed our own computer software to track a container from the time our customer books a job with us. Our system allows us to ensure that the appropriate checks exist to eliminate loss of containers. This also allows us to provide early advice to our customers regarding collection of empty containers to ensure that demurrage charges are not levied. Our customers are able to obtain details of their programmed movements via a secure logon over the internet.
We are at the forefront in mass management practices that have enabled us to assist clients with increasing payloads in containers, thereby reducing their overall shipping costs. In this regard, a number of our clients have 46 tonne and 68 tonne (for a B Double) permits for export containers.
We currently hold the Queensland Rail contract for all container movements to and from the Toowoomba rail terminal, having held such contract for in excess of 10 years.
Additionally, we have a fleet of approximately 40 units carrying containers in the Brisbane metropolitan area and a dedicated fleet of 35 units servicing all container movements for a number of large abattoirs in the Toowoomba region, 10 units servicing container movements in the Cairns region and 6 to 9 units servicing the Innisfail region.
